Hi all! I have recently decided to go through the naturalization process here in Japan in order to strengthen the travel capacity of my passport. I’m still in my early 20s and had come to believe that it would broaden the horizons in all aspects of life including career.
– Application form (with 2 photos 5cm x 5cm)
– Reason why you want to become a Japanese citizen (hand-written in Japanese by the applicant)
– Resume
– Written oath
– Description of your relatives
– Description of how you make your living in Japan
– Maps of the vicinity of your residence and workplace
– Description of your business (If you or your family member is a business owner)
– Financial statements
– Business license
– Company registration
– *Diploma*
– Domestic family documents
– Proof of citizenship (birth certificate)
– Certificate of employment
– Certificate of residence card
– Certificate of tax payments (with hold slip, income tax returned record)
– Certificate of your assets (bank deposit, real-estate, securities)
– *Driving record*
– Others upon requirement
These were the requirements I found on a website and I was wondering if a diploma is an absolute-must in going through naturalization. Due to circumstances, ahem covid, I had to drop-out of my å°‚é–€å¦æ ¡ when it happened and had since been working in 会社s. I also haven’t made time to get a driver’s license so I’m uncertain if the driving record is an absolute either.
I would appreciate insights and some tips from those who had gone through the process or from those familiar! Thank you!
