First thing to do after arrival

Hi, I will be moving to Japan (Fukuoka) by the end of this month with a working visa. For the first two weeks, my company will provide a place (hotel) to stay. I will use this time to find an apartment with the help of a local friend.

I have read articles here and there about what to do when we first arrived in the country.

Firstly, residence card will be given at the airport, then we need to register address at the city hall, etc etc. I have also heard a lot of stories about the address, phone number and bank account cycle.

I would like to know what’s the very first thing that I need to do once I received my residence card and the steps to settle down (address, phone number, bank account).

I’m also considering to buy a local phone number (e-sim) from Mobal before my arrival. Pls advise on this matter too if there’s a better idea.

Thank you!
