This is my first post here!
To put a long story short my fiancé and I have been trying to find an apartment in Tokyo for around a month now.
Before applying to any place our agent has checked if students and foreigners are okay to apply and the apartments we ended up applying to said yes. We’ve applied to two places so far and gotten rejected from both for no reason which I’m coming to realize is the standard. We currently have an application pending but they haven’t given us any news in 10 days.
We are in the process of applying for another apartment as a backup but they want a japanese or permanent resident emergency contact and the information all has to be personal so we are unable to use our schools (I have asked they said no). The person that I used for the previous application is someone from my part time job but we aren’t that close and I really don’t want to have to ask her again and overstep my boundaries but unfortunately that’s the direction that this is heading in.
This whole experience has been really disheartening and exhausting.
