Hi, I’ll be studying abroad in Japan come next week, but I’ve encountered a bit of a road block. The dorm I’m staying at has given me a form to fill out, where it asks me to provide them with my blood type. I don’t actually know my blood type, as it’s never been tested. I was wondering, if anyone knew why they’d need to know that and if it’s okay to leave the section blank.

You should probably get tested. Could be useful in emergency situations.

Just donate your blood and ask for them for your blood type (or better yet get a blood donor card).
The dorm **might** be acting overly conscientious for you about any medical emergencies. But far more likely…the dorm is just being superstitious about matching roommates according their silly [Blood Type Personality Theory](https://www.tofugu.com/japan/japanese-blood-type/).
