Recover luggage forgot in a Suica locker

Hi, I am a student currently living in Sendai.
I visited Tokyo during the golden week and placed some luggage at a JR Sugamo Station during morning. The locker is located after passing through the ticket gate. I have suica on my fitbit smart watch which I tapped at the locker while placing the luggage.

Fast forward to the night, the watch’s battery drained and died mid way through the commute back. I did not have the watch’s charger with me. I had entered the earlier ticket gate by tapping suica on my watch. However, I could not exit as I could not use suica on the watch. I talked to the station staff and paid the fare in coins.

Now as the locker is concerned, I could not tap the suica on my watch to take out the luggage. I told the station staff about it. He asked about the receipt which I unfortunately had lost thinking I would not need it as I have to tap my suica only to withdraw. (Yes, I know it is my fault for not having a charge for the watch and receipt as well). I did remember the locker number but the staff told he can’t open it as I do not have the receipt and can’t show any proof. I agreed with him. He told me to comeback after charging my suica and then withdraw.

The problem is that it was very late at night, after 11 pm. I had to catch my bus back to Sendai by 12 am. So I could not come back with the charged watch to withdraw my luggage.

I am back in Sendai now. My stuff is most probably in that locker. Although I think they have a 24 hour storage limit. Not sure what happens after that time period. It will most probably end up in lost and found.

So how do I go about recovering my stuff. The luggage is not that important. I can live without it but would be nice to have it back. I don’t want to make a trip to tokyo right again just for the luggage. I might visit tokyo within 2-3 weeks. Is it possible to recover my stuff within this time period?

Also how do I go about explaining this and proving that luggage is indeed mine. Also, will i have to pay extra locker fee for the extended storage period. My japanese is good enough, the conversation with the staff at Sugamo station was in Japanese. Thanks.
