Sorry if this is answered clearly elsewhere, but I could not find it via search. I am hoping someone with experience may be able to answer this issue.
I applied and got rejected for a Rakuten card. My best guess is because I tried to link my bank account (which includes my middle name) but when filling out the name section for the online application it’s a mess. For the kanji section I have to omit my middle name completely as I am 1 character over what they allow. For the romanization of my name, I try to include my middle name after my first, but it won’t allow spaces (despite saying spaces are allowed) and just instantly smushes my first and middle name together. For example, instead of something like “John Apple” it becomes “JohnApple”. There seems to be no way around their automated “correction” in those boxes.
From what I gathered, this means that because the “kanji” entry is wrong I can’t link my bank account online and will have to do such by paper? But the major issue is I am moving next month to a new place so I don’t know how that will affect the process having my address change in the middle of it, since they say the paper route takes 1-2 months to go through?
The second issue I am worried about is delivery, which seems to be a common theme when I searched for info. Because they won’t allow spaces and just mash my names together, I imagine I won’t be able to get it delivered as it won’t 100% match what is on all my identifications. Is there actually a way to include a space in their online form? Or is it just a lie?
Thank you in advance.
