Etiquette with Japanese relatives

I’m about to visit my cousin in Japan whom I haven’t seen for 30 years. She set up a lunch for us and I would like to try to pay. Is this appropriate or out of line?

I also want to know about omiyage custom/etiquette with foreign relatives. They are going to get something for us, even my grown kids who are not coming. What is appropriate for us to bring/give? What is too much and/or too little?

Insight would be much appreciated!
