Hi everyone. My GF and I will be heading to Kyushu this October. Wanted to check if anyone could comment on our itinerary. This is my GF’s 3rd time to Japan and it has been several times for me but we have both never been to Kyushu. Thanks in advance!
######**Day 1**
– Landing in Fukuoka Airport at 08:20
– Domestic flight to Miyazaki Airport at 10:30
– We will rent a car from Miyazaki Airport, for our entire stay in Miyazaki
– Lunch, Florante Miyazaki, Miyazaki Heiwadai Park
– Head over to our airbnb after exploring the city and getting an early dinner
######**Day 2**
– Road trip
– Sekinoo falls, Takachiho Farm, Miike Observatory, Ikoma Plateau, Aoshima (?)
– We want to hit Aoshima slightly before sunset. Not sure what time we should reach
######**Day 3**
– Check out of airbnb
– Road trip down south
– Udo Jingu, Cape Toi, Sun Messe Nichinan
– We are planning to check in to our ryokan near Aoshima before 6pm for dinner. But I am not sure if visiting Aoshima on this day would be better
######**Day 4**
– Check out of our ryokan
– Return the car at Miyazaki station
– Highway bus from Miyazaki to Kumamoto
– Car rental at Kumamoto
– Suizenji Jojuen Garden
– We will visit some of the one piece statues before dinner
– Check in to our hotel

– Check out of hotel
– Tsujun bridge, Unoko falls, Takachiho gorge, Kusasenri (night view)
– Check in to Aso hotel
######**Day 6**
– Daikanbo morning view
– Visit the remaining one piece statues
– Mt Aso
######**Day 7**
– Check out of hotel
– Kumamoto Castle
– Return car and take JR train to Yufuin
– Rent another car from Yufuin
– Yufuin floral village, Kinrin lake
– Check into our hotel

– Mount Yufu, Mount Tsurumi, Uchinari rice terrace
– We also plan to check out some of the ‘hells’ at Beppu, but are undecided on which ones
######**Day 9**
– Check out of hotel and return the car
– Take train to Fukuoka, Hakata
– Uminonakamichi Seaside park, Yatai
– Check into our hotel
######**Day 10**
– Day trip to Huis Ten Bosch via JR train
######**Day 11**
– Day trip to Nagasaki via JR train
– Nagasaki atomic bomb museum, chinatown, Mt Inasa (night)
######**Day 12**
– Rent a car from Hakata station to see Sakurai Shrine Futamigaura Torii
– Probably some last minute shopping in the city

– Checkout of hotel and get to the airport for our morning flight
Thanks for reading. I have a couple of questions listed below and would be great if anyone had the answers:
1. Is a 2 hour turnaround time in Fukuoka enough to transit from an international to domestic flight?
2. What time in the late afternoon is good for Aoshima?
3. Has anyone had experience taking the highway bus from Miyazaki to Kumamoto? We plan on taking Willer Express but are a bit unsure on how to go about with this
4. We want to use luggage forwarding services from Kumamoto to Fukuoka, but we will be visiting Yufuin in between for 2 nights. Are they able to accept this arrangement?
5. Any night view recommendations in Aso where we can stargaze? We will be driving so transportation won’t be an issue.
6. What time should we be at Daikanbo if we want to see the sea of clouds in the morning? We will be there in October.
7. We plan to take the JR sightseeing train to Yufuin. Does anyone know if tickets are difficult to get?
8. Does anyone have recommended sights to see West of Fukuoka? We will be driving to the Sakurai Shrine Futamigaura Torii, but would be great if there are other things to see along the way.
