Hi, I have a Japanese style bathtub that auto fills and reheats the water via recirculating the water through the water heater.
After years of use, I’m finding that the first water to come out when filling the tub stinks. If I let it run for a while and drain out. Then start the filling over from the beginning it does not smell so bad.
So I think the cause is dirty water sitting in the recirculating system overnight / over time, and the fact that the filling / recirculating spout is one mechanism.
Does anyone know of the proper way to clean this system? There must be a way to do it. But since this kind of bathtub is unique to Japan, and my Japanese is not that great I’m asking here.
