Luggage Delivery Question- Cash on Delivery

Hello, I recently asked a question to a hotel in Japan asking if they offered luggage forwarding/and or receiving.

This is the response back which is *”Yes, for shipping service, we only offer “cash on delivery” with Yamato Delivery service. For receiving, you can send your luggage and we can keep it until your check-in. Please be assured that the shipping fee needs to be paid in advance.”*

I’m mostly confused on the “we only offer ‘cash on delivery’ with Yamato.” Does this mean I would need to be at the next hotel to pay for the luggage? (which I most likely wouldn’t be there on time in reality?) Does the next hotel just pay for it for me, and I just pay them when I get there?
