I’m working as a contract employee for a company in Tokyo. For refernece; I am on a yearly contract that renews each year. The company does not provide insurance, so I am in the national health insurance. Each month I send the company an invoice with the agreed upon contract amount.
Basically I am wondering if I am eligible for any tax deductions for expenses such as work phone/ phone bill. Business clothing/ suits etc.
I am not knowledgeable in tax deductions or tax in general so any help would be great.
Also, if anyone knows any good tax advisors around Tokyo that I could speak with that would be helpful too.
