Anyone had this cowboy outfit called “The Worldfolio” come and interview your company CEO?

Here’s their business model:

They call or email your company pretending to be interested in your company’s products and philosophy etc.. They have a flashy webpage which looks decent at first glance:

But when you read the articles, they are almost all the same cut and paste type deals, dropping in buzz words like “monozukuri” etc.. Also, the answers often don’t match up with the questions asked. There are also spelling errors and run-on sentences with shit punctuation.

They came to my company to interview the CEO. They conduct an “interview” which is an absolute piss-take; they just ask about things they have clearly memorized from the company website, all the while nodding and faking interest.

After about an hour, they show their real reason for showing up in the first place:

“How would you like to appear in the internationally acclaimed and super-duper, hard-hitting magazine “Newsweek”? You can pay us this much for a half-page advertisement, or this much for a whole page. And how would you like to pay us?”

I found the whole thing slimy and scammy, yet my company was hoodwinked into taking part and even paying for the Newsweek advertisement.

Be aware if they approach your company and try to get your CEO to take part in an “interview”.
