Texting etiquette

I recently started texting with my host family, and I am always a bit unsure if I should reply right away or wait a bit as to not be too pushy, but I am a bit scared that that it comes off as lazy/disrespectful. Is this a reasonable concern to have? Is there anything else I should watch out for? Thank you in advance!

  1. Why don’t you ask them directly? I’m sure they’ll appreciate the interest in their culture.

    And share with us lmao

  2. Um what do you mean by this? I’m not Japanese but in my experience a prompt response is considered polite.

Personally I think tone, not texting very late in their time zone, and not spamming them are more important.
