My wife & I are currently planning our first trip to Japan; we are going in mid-July and will be there for 2 weeks. We are flying in/out of Tokyo.
This is our current breakdown:
– 3 nights in Tokyo upon arrival
– 2 nights in Matsumoto, planning to spend 1 day hiking
– 3 nights in Kyoto
– 3 nights on Kyushu, currently thinking Nagasaki and another city
– 2 nights in Tokyo to round out the trip
Is it worth flying down to Kyushu for 3 days? A primary factor in heading south is the opportunity for some beach time, so would Kamakura make more sense?
Any advice/thoughts are appreciated!
