Hi, I’m looking for some advice and I hope someone can give me some insight.
So, I previously lived in Japan on a working holiday visa. I moved there to live with my partner who was on the JET program and ended up moving back home after a year and a half. I loved my time there but unfortunately I was going through some pretty extreme mental health issues so I had to move home. I’m in a better place now and would love to go back and live there again because I miss it.
My concern is, because my mental health was truly abysmal, I think there were some bills I might not have paid before I left. I definitely handled my taxes before going but I’m not sure about my national health insurance or other things like that I may have missed. Does anyone know if this will hurt my chances of getting a visa again? My partner is currently interviewing for a few places and I am planning on getting a dependent visa since I don’t have a degree.
I will probably try and talk to an immigration specialist about this at some point but I thought I’d start here and see what people think. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated. I’d hate to think our chances are ruined because of my mistakes.
