Which food Japanese like to eat with beer?

Hi everyone, my semester is nearly over and I wanna buy some present for my teacher as a thank you. He usually drinks beer at nights so Im thinking I will get him something to eat while drinking.
Can someone tell me which food Japanese like to eat while drinking beer that I can buy for my teacher and where I can find it? Not too expensive please, about ¥2000 and if it can be ordered on Amazon is better.

Thank you guys so much.

  1. Bags of rice crackers, nuts, or dried meats (squid, beef jerky, mini sausages) are pretty popular and can be found at most any store. There are large varieties of each so you could get a few different types and offer a mix bag easily under ¥2000.

  2. “otsumami” is the Japanese word for snacks that you’ll have with beer. pop it into google and you can get some ideas on what to look for. In general it’s the same as anywhere, dry, salty snacks. You might be better off getting him something unique from your home country that he can try with beer.
