Not in Japan yet.
I’ve had 7+ years of experience as a software engineer in tech. I plan to work in Japan as a product manager (also in tech), but I’ve worked for only fewer than 3 years with product manager as my title. Can I claim 7+ years of professional career (practical experience), which gives 15 points in advanced specialized/technical activities category?
Does product manager fall into the category of business management activities instead of advanced technical activities?
I know I can get a work visa either way, but for the purposes of getting permanent residence in the future, is it advisable to work as a software engineer in Japan based on my previous work experience?
(For context, I’m looking at the criteria on this page for permanent residence: https://www.moj.go.jp/isa/applications/resources/newimmiact_3_evaluate_index.html)
Thank you!
