Tl;dr I quit my job, am unemployed and my visa expires in two weeks. I’m signing a contract for a new job that doesn’t start until August 21st. Is this too long of a gap for immigration to renew my visa? I called and they said I needed to call a different number but it’d be hard to reach so I should just go in person. I will go in person but I wanted to see if anyone has any information here I can glean from.
I’ve read about this scenario before and it seems it’s maybe up to the immigration officer ESID kinda thing. It’s a humanities visa, the new contract is very nice and also a two year contract.
If you’re curious why I quit my job with my visa renewal date looming, just think of the worst situation at a school you’ve heard of and then times that by 2. There’s just some things in life that are unacceptable, so it was unavoidable.
