TLDR: Is there a time limit a bank can restrict you from obtaining a mortgage after you have been cancer-free after ‘x’ years?
A few years ago my (foreigner on a work visa) wife (Japanese) had a cancerous thyroid tumor. A year later we began looking for a house, and were told that she could not be the main signer on the loan due to this medical condition. It has been 6 years now and getting to ready to look for a house again. She is cancer free and has had zero issue related to this past medical issue. Before we get started is there anyone who has gone though something similar and have any tips/advice/questions to ask?
