We are a family (dad, mum and two kids aged 8 and 4). We have been researching frantically but are really struggling to figure out a nice itinerary. The only thing we have booked is our first 3 nights in Tokyo.. we enjoy the outdoors a lot and like hiking and temples and some beach time would be great too if possible.
The following is what we have kind of figured out… any suggestions!?
We are planning on staying in Tokio 3 days and 4 days in Kyoto from where we plan a day trip to Nara and maybe a day trip to Osaka.
Then we have 1 week where we would like to stay in a smaller city – town, ideally on the coast where one can go for a swim a few times and from where doing different day trips…
We have identified 2 areas that look interesting:
– The area around Mount Fuji – Hakone and the Izu peninsula
– the area of Takeno – kinosaki and the Tango peninsula
Does anyone know anything about them? Would you recommend them?
Does you know of other areas that could fit our brief?
