Rather confused by this:

Context is, the bad guys may have let the hero escape, just as they did 15 years ago (when the hero was born, they were supposed to kill him). I think this is something to do with that.
But if I look at this, it seems to say “In order to not step on the iron of 15 years ago”. Which sounds like I’m not understanding this very well.
I’ve been using one of the services to talk with a Japanese teacher 1:1 every week for the last two months. I am really bad at free talk, but it has worked out so far. Today, I felt like I was really out of things to say so I tried to say sorry that I’m boring by saying 「僕はつまらない」. Well, he seemed surprised, so I realized I said that “I am bored.” As I’ve been thinking about it, I would say both the same way, so how do I distinguish between the two? Was a bit embarrassing.

Hi, I’m confused about the も in いたみも. What is it doing to the いたみ? Is it a particle that makes the second part “the ankle pain also went away”?
Im in Japan right now and want to buy some manga for practicing. Right now, my level is between n4 and n3, but I have only read easy news and graded readers so far.
I’m going to buy Shirukuma Cafe and Yotsuba. Is there something else you would recommend for me? Maybe even a light novel?
