One of the best ramenya’s I have been to in Taipei area.
Both the chef and the female staff are professional, warm, friendly and proactive. One orders from the menu and pays in cash to be placed in line. The female staff will then give an approximate wait time, and one can choose to wait outside or return around that time.
Got the shio chicken ramen (鹽味雞湯拉麵) with extra slices of meat. 300 NT (~$9.5 USD). The soup is clear and flavorful with a hint of shio flavors, but not overly thick and heavy like that at other ramenya’s. Also, loved the big servings of scallions and bamboo shoots on top. And the soft boiled egg was cooked perfectly.
The ramen came with thin noodles, cooked for 20 seconds. I thought it was a bit too soft and asked for a half serving cooked for just 10 seconds. That did the trick. One can get a full serving for free, and choose between thin or thick noodles. Personally, I like the thick noodles cooked al dente the best.
Highly recommended to try if you guys visit Taipei.
(Usually there is a 40+ min wait time so be sure to get there early.)
