Why to some people keep their phones flashlight on?

The title. Ive seen it a lot, almost daily. Mostly women. They handle the phone constantly with the flashlight on. On the train, 40 minutes or more. Walking on the metro, on the streets. Some even you can see the ligth thought their pants pockets.

It makes me anxious and worried for the waste of battery. Its too common to be a slip of the finger and too weird to have the phone on your hand over an hour straigth and not notice it. Some, on the train at nigth, next to a door window, they are in front of their own reflection and they see the flashlight bounced back rigth into their faces and dont bother at all. Why?

edit1: several are saying is an iPhone design flaw… but I’ve using iPhone all my life and most my foreign friends do too and never had or saw it happening before coming to japan. its really the default setting on the control panel so easily activated? still dont get why noone notice it at night or even in front of a reflection or feel the heat when on their pockets. does it happen on other countries too? dont know other places for comparison
