Travel to Japan October/November – advice please!

So I’m booking my ultra bucket list holiday for my 40th birthday in 2026. My birthday falls at the beginning of November so ideally I’d like to go then. I’m hoping to combine with a trip to South Korea but we shall see!

I’ve been to Japan twice before but both of those times were in March and April. I’ve been reading about visiting Japan in October and November and I was wondering if that’s a good time to go? I’ve read mixed reports of whether it’s typhoon season or not. Any help or advice would be helpful. We’re looking to go last week of October to the first two weeks of November and hoping to travel to spend a few nights in Tokyo and then travel to other cities (not sure which ones yet).

So, in short: is it worth visiting at the end of October/beginning of November or is there a risk of typhoons which could disrupt the holiday?
