I have been having issues
in selecting USD as a currency to send a wire to Japanese Postal Bank from Chase Bank or B of A. The Chase and B of A accounts are located in the U.S. and Japanese Postal Bank only accepts international wires in USD or EUR. When I try to set up the international wire on Chase or B of A website and select USD, an
error message comes up saying ” We are unable to support consumer international wire transfers in this currency to your recipient’s bank and country”. I could select JPY instead just to complete the set-up page but
the JPY transfer gets rejected the next day because it’s not USD or EUR. I have successfully sent 2 wires in USD to the exact same account in the Postal Bank in 2023. I am not sure any regulations have changed. I’ve been talking to Chase bank but they don’t seem to know the cause. Is anyone here having the same issue? I would appreciate any advice from you guys.
