SOLVED, thank y’all for answering
So just went for Ramen at Ichiran Ramen at stored my backpack behind me at the wall (everyone did so) and when I finished, the backpack was gone. I asked the staff if they had it and 5mins later, one man came out with my backpack. He asked me to show my passport and write my name, phone number and address down. When I asked him what he needs that for, he just said ‘police’. After I wrote everything down, he gave me the backpack and I could leave.
Does someone know what that was for? Will I get in trouble when exiting japan? Was kind of weird and I did not experience anything like that whilst being here.
