Japanese learning websites

I can speak average sentences and have grew up around japanese language. If a group of adults are speaking japanese I can understand every word they are saying. But if they ask me a question, I can understand it, I just can’t find the words to reply.

How do I find a way to learn japanese online while including factors like these. In reading I am also a beginner, but I don’t really care much for reading atm and want to focus more on verbal stuff.
Are there any sites, youtube or apps like this?

  1. As an employee of Tofugu/WaniKani, I recommend checking out our numerous articles on Japanese learning resources. We post one each season. Good luck! 🐡

  2. Sort of a different direction, but I’d just practice speaking out loud when you’re by yourself. The thing you’re having trouble with is getting the words out, so practice getting the words out. Think about the questions you’ve been asked, or things you want to be able to talk about, and practice saying those things out loud. If you don’t know a word, look it up in a dictionary and then keep talking. I did this a lot to work on speaking when I first moved to Japan and personally it helped me feel more confident in irl situations, because I’d already done a kind of “dress rehearsal” version of many of the conversations by myself at home.

  3. Bunpro is similar to wanikani but focuses on grammar, it goes by JLPT level and I think it’s really useful!
