Hello everyone. Me and wife are traveling to Japan next month. We will land in Tokyo travel to Kyoto Osaka and Nara. I did the JR pass calculations and seems the JR pass is not worth it for us as our total ticket cost will be half of what JR pass costs.
My question is, can I just purchase tickets everytime at the station using my visa or master credit card? Or do I need Japanese yen? I’m also confused about the IC cards. I’m trying to make it easy for us but can’t find any info if the tickets can be purchased at the station with just a credit card (USA issued)
