Is the imperative form 鎮まれ (“shizumare”) meant to be interpreted as “I order you to subside/quiet down” etc.?

I’ve been wondering about the proper context usage of this verb. I suspect it’s similar to 黙れ (“damare”), just obviously not as impolitely.
