Itinerary check for 18 days with family of 4

Myself, my partner, and our twin 8 year old children will be travelling to Japan for the first time this November. The kids will be 9 when we fly. Flights are booked for 25th November from cairns Australia landing in Tokyo. We fly home from Osaka on the 12th December. The following is a draft itinerary. Please let me know if there are any major issues. I’m trying not to overload the kids, but still want to see as much as we can which is quite the balancing act.

Day 1

Land in Tokyo 5pm

Check into hotel which is close to ginkgo avenue, thought we’d go for a stroll then get some dinner and straight to bed.

Day 2

Arcades and video games in Shinjuku

Tokyo metro building

Day 4

Asakusa river cruise

Day 5

Bullet train to Kyoto

Walk around gion which is close to the hotel
