We have a junior staff member on extended paid stress leave, and they keep requesting their leave to be extended. It has been months.
Overseas, I don’t think extended leave would be granted in this scenario. In fact, I haven’t known anyone to take sick leave for over a few weeks for stress.
Apologies I can’t give more details, but out of interest, is extended sick leave for stress common in Japan? Or is this a really exceptional case?
