Hello, I am living in Japan since 2016, came back to live with girlfriend now married with 6 years and counting. I want to ask about specifically the experience one need to become project or product manager in product based company. I have 15 years of experience (more than 8 in Japan) in design and development in auto industry, but still have not gone further than senior engineer and I posses good tech knowledge in field along with serious Japanese language hold N2 almost to native cause I see lot of \*\*\*\* tv shows and argues with wife in Japanese. When I apply through work agent for such roles definitely it gets denied. With every denial stress clouds over my mind and started to feel underpaid (which is very quiet general in Japan to be underpaid) by knowing the situation that some other person with less experience is getting paid more along with PM title. I try to calm my mind competition is not my thing and am heavy to run a sprint but still with so much of experience does not make me through. I would like to hear the opinions if someone has experienced the same how did they achieve what they wanted to be.
