I (F, 24) am visiting Osaka/Nagoya/ Kyoto in August. What are some summer footwear styles that are good to wear in Japan?
The past two times I visited, it was winter. The first time I visited (August, 2018), I wore flip flops a lot… It’s been years since I visited in the summer. Are flip flops as acceptable and versatile (in terms of fashion) in Japan compared to western cultures? In America, many people wear flip flops everywhere in the summer.
I’ve read people saying flip flops are too casual to wear most places in Japan. What do you think? What are some alternatives? Thanks!
