Do CHILDREN naturalized abroad lose Japanese citizenship?

If a child has Japanese citizenship and is living abroad (4-6 years old), and they naturalize alongside a parent, NOT by their decision, are they allowed to maintain Japanese citizenship as they would if they had dual citizenship by birth? Kids were born in and will be mostly raised in this country (which has taken over a decade of hard work to reach naturalization), but we don’t want to rid them of Japanese citizenship. They already have two citizenships but this one would be critical because it’s so difficult to get and has amazing benefits. But we don’t want to make that decision of losing Japanese citizenship for them. Does anyone have any experience with naturalizing kids or know anything about this? Thank you!
