This is our second trip to Japan. We already did Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto-Hakone last time.
Day 1 Tokyo (arriving late afternoon at Narita, hotel probably in Asakusa)
Day 2 (Go to tsukiji market early because of jet lag, eat ramen, visit parts of the city we haven’t been)
Day 3-4-5 Kanazawa (explore the city and eat seafood)
Day 6-Takayama (travel to Takayama via shirakawago, ryokan in Takayama)
Day 7-8 Kyoto (but thinking about Kobe instead)
Day 9-10 Kinosaki onsen (onsens and sleep at a dinner/breakfast included ryokan)
Day 11 Hiroshima (Peace and memorial park and museum)
Day 12 Hiroshima (explore city, eat okonomiyaki)
Day 13 Miyajima (ferry to Miyajima,  Mount Misen, ryokan)
Day 14 Tokyo (train back to Tokyo, Yayoy Kusama museum, Ueno park)Â
Day 15 Tokyo (glitch coffeeshop, shopping, omakase at manten)
Day 16 Flight from Narita to Canada
1-I’m wondering if I should switch Takayama and Kanazawa. Or forget about Takayama altogether and do shirakawago as a day trip from kanazawa.
2- I’m thinking about skipping Kyoto to give us more time elsewhere but it seems like a logic stop between kanazawa and Kinosaki. Maybe Kobe? Hikone?
3- Is 2 days too much for Kinosaki Onsen? Or is there an other onsen spot that would make more sense with my itinerary?
We like to travel at a slow pace usually so I’m a bit worried it’s a lot of train travel.
thank you for your feedback!
