Where can I find novels/light novels ?

As said In title I really strugle to find novels, I know that it’s possible to buy some off amazon japan but it’s not an option for me. I also heard about aozora but I honestly don’t know what to read for N4/N3 (advanced beginner) nor if there are other (free) site available.

  1. Abebooks sometimes has Japanese novels. I bought コンビニ人間 from there, for example.

  2. [https://ncode.syosetu.com/n4830bu/](https://ncode.syosetu.com/n4830bu/) this is an isekai light novel 🙂 Ascendence of a bookworm. It’s really long, so there’s a lot to read, if it interests you. Because of how the author writes, each new part is almost like a different style of book.

  3. If you want to go the free route, [syosetu](https://syosetu.com/) is the way to go. aozora also, but there are mostly older and harder novels there.

Regarding your question about which novel to pick: You have to keep in mind how difficult novels are, judging by your recent posts, you struggled to read slice of life mangas 3 weeks ago(no shaming, was the same for me in the past), novels will be much, much more difficult, even at n2 you will struggle a lot.

You stated you were n5 3 weeks ago and need furigana and simple kanjis, unfortunately most lightnovels are the opposite, so be prepared if you start your first one. Its not impossible, but it will be a rocky road.

  4. Bookwalker is an ebook site that let’s you preview a couple of Pages of any book. They have novels, magazines, light novels, manga…. I find it handy because you can pay easily with any Paypal account, but it has the disadvantage of only being able to read what you buy on their reader. I use it mostly to read obscure untranslated manga
