I didn’t think about this until just now (as I will be heading to Japan soon) but do street shops/vendors, 7-11s, Lawson’s, non-restaurant places, etc. allow customers to use their own containers to buy/take away food? For example, if I wanted Takoyaki from a vendor, could I present them with my own container instead of them using their single-use containers? Would they know what I want if I don’t speak the language, and would it be considered as rude and offensive?
* I tried to Google this before coming here but the closest was someone asking about doing this same thing but in a restaurant, which is not what I’m looking answers for.
