With the recent solar storm, it seems that it may indeed be possible to spot the aurora from lower latitudes right now. There are plenty of nice photos coming out from Europe. For Japan, Hokkaido may be barely just north enough. If any of you living up there are going to try and go somewhere dark for a look, share an update about your adventure!
