Hi. To simply put it, I’ve always had irregular periods. My boyfriend has been telling me for years that I might have PCOS as I show signs of it (apparently). So, I finally wanted to check it out.
I am in my 20’s and haven’t been to a gyno (ever) so I do not know what to expect. The process, and especially the costs of check up and diagnose as I’m a broke college student 💀 (I dont live in a big city so I dont know if it’s going to be cheaper or more expensive due to lack of clinics?)
I tried to look through old posts on here but other than getting few info about how PCOS diagnose is different in Japan than abroad, I dont know anything.
I am basically looking to hear any advice (what to do or not do), the medicine side effects, or positive/negative experiences you might have gone through with a Japanese gyno.
Edit: just to clarify, I’m half Japanese and a Japanese national. Thought it wouldn’t matter but yes, I’m familiar with the healthcare/insurance system 😅 My Japanese is decent too (or at least would like to think that it is as I often accompany my foreign friends to clinics/hospital for translation)
