As the title says, I am wondering if it is just me or is it just hard to make friends to hang out with frequently (here in Japan / as an adult)?
I have friends in different places in Japan but none of them have I had the chance to hang out regularly with. Which is partly my fault as I have been moving from place to place within the country in recent years, but things weren’t that different before when I wasn’t moving so much.
Of course there’s also the ~~cultural~~ societal aspect of it that people here (me included) are living at a pace where we have events in the future pre-planned even weeks ahead and spontaneous “Wanna hang” invites are barely a thing. And then having to plan frequent hang outs would be also probably very taxing for all parties involved.
Or is it? I have no idea if that’s everyone or maybe I am in a bubble that prevents me from seeing more widely.
I would love to have more friends to hang out with more frequently. I know hangouts cost money and I honestly have nothing against free outdoor activities. And hopefully build deeper connections. But I have no idea where to find those people and at the same time I fear I might have become more closed off.
