I’ll be in Kyoto in late July and am planning to visit Fushimi-Inari before sunrise, which by then would be at 5 am.
What would be the best way to get there that early, considering I’d be staying in Gion?
Kiyomizu-Gojō Station is the closest for me but, according to Google, the earliest train on the Keihan Main Line to Fushimi-Inari Station is at 5:07 am. Ideally, I’d like to be at Fushimi-Inari by 4 am at the latest to experience it in the darkness. My travel companion and I are counting on that and on the sunrise to do some photography.
I don’t mind paying for a taxi if I have to. I’m planning to use the Go app once in Japan. Would that work calling a taxi at 3:30 am? I’m not staying in a hotel so wouldn’t be able to ask hotel staff for help.
