I am travelling to Japan with my Wife and a 18 and 16 year old boys and I am looking for an itinerary to suit all for 12 day trip. So far I have thought about :
6 day in Tokyo area – Shinjuku area , Tokyo Tower, Shibuya crossing , Hakone, Kamakura, Team labs
3 Days in Kyoto – Gates of Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama
3 days Osaka – Ninteno/Universal studies , Thrift markets, Nara , Osaka Castle, Kiyomizu-dera
Would love to hear ideas and which best areas to stay in at each city for mid cost hotels
