Hi everyone,
I moved to Japan over 6 months ago on a work visa. It was towards the end of the month (4-5 days were remaining) and my first day at my job was on the first of the next month.
A few weeks back I got a notification from the National Pension Office asking me to pay the entire premium (¥16,610) for the few days of the previous month that I was in Japan but not “working”.
Is it standard procedure to pay the entire amount? Or is there any way I can prorate it and pay only for the days I was in Japan?
