Hi everybody. Me and my friend are planning to spend around 7-8 days in Okinawa in the beginning of August. There’s a few questions I have, though and I will be glad if someone with similar experience can help.
As I mentioned in the title, both of us don’t have driver licenses. I speak Japanese and live in Japan, though. I’ve heard that the transportation network is not great in Okinawa, but we’re looking more towards enjoying nice beaches (both in Okinawa and the neighbouring islands), relaxing and having good food/good drinks somewhere at the beach/near the beach, like a place with nice beach bars or something. For those purposes, where would it be best to position ourselves? Maha, so we can use the ferries to the islands as we prefer each day? Or somewhere else, say Miyakojima, and travel back to Maha via ferry if we need more “touristy” days? Or splitting between the two? What would you recommend? Any islands that are must-visit and places to eat/chill/drink are also welcome.
