What’s the difference between jidori chicken and kaarage?
That IS a ceramic plate y’all, look carefully, it’s just shaped like a shovel head. Shovel heads were used as cooking implements in rural Japan. For example, the “suki” in sukiyaki refers to a spade (鋤), which is what sukiyaki was originally cooked on. The plate is clearly meant to evoke that kind of rustic cooking. I think it’s cool.
Pardon my ignorance-but is Jidori chicken only raised in California, USA?
