Mount Fuji parking

Doing the yoshida trail from Fuji-subaru 5th station this weekend. As I understand it, the “private vehicle regulation” period is over. I’m not exactly sure what that means though. Conflicting info online. I wanna park as close to 5th station as possible of course (free would be a bonus), do I choose the [hokuroku](https://maps.app.goo.gl/mgoG9H8PqqqBy7Fr9?g_st=ii) car park?

Some sources seem to suggest that I can even park for free at the Fuji Subaru 5th station itself?

EDIT: with regards to driving the fuji-Subaru line right up to the 5th station, [here](http://subaruline.jp/e/eigyou/my_car.html) it says the private vehicle restriction period is over tomorrow (so we can drive to the 5th station by the weekend right?)

  1. The parking is free, the toll road up there is not. Don’t know during climbing season they limit private cars and you have to park at the bottom of the hill and take a bus.

Yeah – the road is closed to private vehicles – http://subaruline.jp/e/

You’ll need to park at the Yamanashi Prefectural Fuji Hokuroku Parking (1000jpy) and take the bus. Unless you’ve got an extra day to walk up you do not want to climb from the parking area to the 5th station.
