So I actually applied to be an ALT at an international school. But for some reason they hired me for HR and head teacher position. Which is confusing.
But looking at my contract, I see that my base pay is actually only 200,000 yen a month. But I get additional 1500 yen an hour when inside the classroom and additional 3000 an hour when working outside of my “scheduled” contracted hours. Incidentally I also only work 44 weeks out of the year, which I’m assuming is normal to get about 8 weeks off a year.
My salary per month is more like 330,000 so I’m fine with that, but couldn’t they have just set my salary at like 300,000 or something? I was looking to move soon but I feel like I can’t get approved for much places with a base pay of 200,000.
