These little orange lady bug like bugs are eating all the leaves on my cucumber and kabocha plants. Everyday they come back and have even taken to just straight up popping them in my hand to get rid of them. They ooze orange liquid everywhere when you pop them. How do you get rid of these things. I can pop a dozen and an hour later there will be more. How to rid of them and not have them come back?

Try nets over your produce, it might held keep them out. If they’re small enough to get through, pesticides might be the only alternative. I recently forgot to net my tomatoes and they got all eaten by kamemushi..

Lady bugs seem to help a bit… More importantly, if you have little kids, it’s really fun to hunt for them.
Sounds like aphids (アブラムシ). Tons of sprays for them in the garden section.
I saw a guy make a pesticide solution by mixing tabasco sauce and water and spraying it onto crops. I haven7t tried it myself so I don’t know if they are effective, but it might be worth the try
We started using [this](http://www.greenjapan.co.jp/marason_n.htm) for cucumber beetles (うりはむし)
Remove all bugs, then seal them in a tent of non woven fabric. the brand name is paopao in katakana.
農業用不織布 Nougyouyou fushokufu.
Or just go out each day with a cup of soapy water and brush them into the cup.
Companion plants help a lot! I planted a bunch of marigolds around my brassicas and the cabbage worms aren’t so bad this year. Lemon grass and rosemary help with a lot of bugs too. Just google to see what would be good
