  1. lol wtf.
So some citizen were walking around and found a box, and they open it.

The word rocket launcher caught me off guard though. So from the previous incidents, it’s probably a gang who disposed it there.

  2. Seems like the city where these were found, Kitakyushu, has a reputation with yakuza gangs. People on Twitter keep making fun of this and calling it Land of Shura (from Fist of North Star).

  3. Whenever people tell me that Fukuoka is the Florida of Japan, I’m skeptical for about a week until something like this pops up. You do you, FUK.

  4. In Japan, numerous organizations are designated as yakuza by the police. Among them, the [Kudo-kai](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kudo-kai), based in Kitakyushu, stands out as the only group in the country classified as a “Particularly Dangerous Organized Crime Group.” This classification is reserved for groups with extremely high levels of violence that repeatedly use illegal weapons in their attacks.

The Kudo-kai has been involved in multiple incidents involving grenades. An RPG-26 rocket launcher was also discovered in a warehouse owned by the Kudo-kai. The organization has been implicated in various violent acts, including throwing a Molotov cocktail into the home of former Prime Minister Abe, throwing explosives into a Toyota factory, grenade attacks and shootings targeting activists working to expel the Kudo-kai from the city, and arson attacks on restaurants that refused to pay protection money.

Because of this, when news reports mention “grenades discovered” or “rocket launcher found,” Japanese people often joke, “It’s Kitakyushu, right? Oh, I see, that makes sense. It’s a common occurrence in Kitakyushu.”
