Hi I’m a uni student writing a research paper on the Japanese national security policies and pacifism, needing to share qualitative survey questionnaires to the Japanese public.
– Goal is exactly 385 respondents
– Questionnaire is in Japanese with some English translations.
– Link to the NSS is in the description
– They don’t need prior knowledge on the subjects, just their opinions and perspectives.
– Can be anyone from the Japanese public demographic above 18yrs
– Data collected is anonymous and only answers will be collected
– will not publish the paper
– Questionnaire is intended to be open ended/ semi-structured but has choices for easier interpretation with further explanation allowed.
Any additional advice will greatly be appreciated.
Or any info on platforms reaching out to the Japanese public.
*I’ve already shared it through some friends I met in my country.

I had a quick look through, and as a non-native Japanese, I felt some of the language was a bit wrong. Particularly there was a mention of 軍事力 where 防衛力 is much less loaded. Did you use an online translator by any chance?
More questions need a Don’t Know and Can’t Say Either Way options.
Perceptions of other countries probably should be split into Friendly and Non-Friendly or Allied and Not Allied.
There should be a short explanation of what the new 2023 strategy is – I suspect a lot of people may have forgotten or just never heard of it.
